Pescalis Fishing Complex
It's just ten minutes drive to Pescalis fishing complex, one of Europe's largest inland fishing lakes with a range of fishing attractions for all ages. Beautiful lakeside walks and a lakeside restaurant, children’s play areas and boating lake, pony rides, local farmers market and other seasonal attractions. Bike hire available at reasonable rates for daily or weekly hire.
Microlight Flights
Drive just five minutes to ULM's airfield where you can experience a thrilling microlight flight over the stunning Gatine scenery. You can even have a go at piloting the microlight after an initial lesson or just let the pilot do the work whilst you sit back and enjoy the ride.
Forest of Adventure
Five minute drive for family fun swinging safely through the trees, open in the summer season with a childrens play area, small café and new 18 hole crazy golf course.
Go Karting
Five minutes drive to an exciting open air go karting track open all year with café.
La Roche Brantlant
Ten minutes drive to a natural wonder, wild parkland with huge granite boulders spanning the river, interesting country walks and children’s play area.
Location du Cheval
Experience the joy of riding wonderful horses in the French countryside with Sarah who runs an English speaking and friendly horse hire stable just fifteen minutes drive from our cottages. She has horses suitable for all stages of riders including children and for the more experienced you can enjoy a fabulous hack through the sunflower fields.
Open Air Swimming Pool
Fifteen minutes drive to Secondigny lakes with walks, restaurant with lakeside views, children’s play area and a large clean open air swimming pool open in the summer months.
Vouvant & Mervant Forest
Twenty minutes drive takes you to the rugged forest of Mervent with tree lined slopes and meandering rivers, a walkers paradise. There is a lovely children's zoo and Parc de Pierre Brune for family fun in the summer months. Vouvant is a magical old picturesque village with a fairy story and ruins to explore,refresh yourself in the tea-rooms, cafes and art galleries.
Golf
Only forty minutes drive to the nearest challenging golf course which also has a 6 hole pitch and put, driving range and beautiful chateaux for light refreshments. Check out all the local courses on the website.
Puy Du Fou
Forty minutes drive to this unique theme park for all ages. Puy du Fou is a "not to be missed" experience with live shows in beautiful surroundings, themed villages full of local crafts, rustic rare breed animals, gardens with lakes and fountains, a history of the Vendeen Wars and plenty of eating places. It is educational, artistic and exciting!
The Green Venice
Fifty minutes drive to the Marais Poitevin, an area of outstanding natural beauty with pretty villages and ancient waterways, explore on foot, hire a bike or take a boat ride.
Seventy minutes drive to the Pont de Ré, the beautiful bridge that takes you to this atmospheric island. Explore picturesque ports, light houses, forts, salt marshes, sandy beaches and seafood producers. Hire a bike to enjoy the special sights of this chic yet unspoilt island. A perfect day out.
La Rochelle
Seventy minutes drive takes you to this chic seaside resort for shopping, seafood, historic forts, the aquarium and boat trips to Fort Boyard and the local islands.
Futuroscope
Eighty minutes drive to this fun family full day out at the cinematic theme park, 3D shows, amazing simulator rides, a brilliant childs play area plus fabulous modern architecture and great places to eat.
Atlantic Coast
Eighty minutes drive to wonderful sandy beaches, seafood and boat trips.
Cognac
A two hour drive will take you to Cognac and vineyard tours.
Tour de France
France is a wonderful place for cyclists with peaceful country lanes and cycle friendly drivers. Pitch yourself against the best and retrace a leg of the 2005 Tour De France route nearby. Please bring your own bikes.
